Ingredients Needed

  • 2 cups fresh paneer cubes

  • 1 cup green peas

  • 1 ½ cup fresh fenugreek leaves

  • ¾ cup fresh cream

  • 1 grated onion

  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 3 grated tomatoes

  • 8-10 cashew nuts (paste)

  • 1 finely chopped green chili

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 3 whole cardamoms

  • ½ inch cinnamon stick

  • ½ tsp peppercorns

  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 3 tbsp oil

Cooking Method

  1. Start by heating oil in a pan, and then add cumin, peppercorns, crushed green cardamoms and cinnamon stick into it. Stir the ingredients on a medium flame for a minute.

  2. Now add the ginger-garlic paste with the grated onion and ground cashews. Fry them on medium-low heat for 10 minutes until the onion is translucent.

  3. Add tomatoes and green chili with the ground spices like turmeric, coriander powder, and salt and mix them well. Add green peas and sauté the mixture for 2 minutes.

  4. Throw the washed methi leaves into the pan and stir it well for 3-4 minutes. When methi is smeared with the mixture, add a cup of water into the pan (you can use milk instead of water optionally) and let it all simmer on medium-high heat for another 5 minutes.

  5. Transfer the paneer cubes into the pan now and gently stir them into the prepared masala. When you get the desired (thick) consistency of the curry, add fresh cream and stir it well.

  6. Remove the pan from the heat, serve it in a bowl and top it off with some fresh cream. Enjoy with chapati, butter naan or rice.
