Paneer Pakora Recipe - Indian Snack

How to make appetizing paneer pakora (fritters)?

Pakora is an Indian bite-sized dish that is made with paneer (cottage cheese) cubes. They are coated with chickpea flour and spice mixture and then fried. It is one of the many kinds of Indian fritters that are eaten as a snack and instantly become your favorite. The crunchy fritters are usually made in the evening at home or served as a delish starter at parties and gatherings.

Trust us on this, they are so delicious that you’ll mop on your plate. People can enjoy it differently either with mint sauce, or tamarind sauce, and some homemade spice mix. The paneer pakoras are crisp on the outside and moist within. These pan-fried pleasures are a visual as well as a gastronomic treat for people looking for irresistible takeout food near Oakland airport.

Now, let’s learn how to cook these paneer pakoras at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup paneer cubes (cottage cheese)

  • 1 cup chickpea flour

  • ½ tsp carom seeds

  • ½ tsp red pepper powder

  • ½ all-spice

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • A pinch of baking soda

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil for frying

  • Water

Cooking Method

  1. In a bowl, put all the ingredients we need to prepare the batter like chickpea flour, carom seeds, red pepper powder, turmeric powder, all-spice, baking soda, and salt.

  2. Now combine your dry mixture well using a spatula.

  3. Make a paste of this mixture by adding water little by little.

  4. Do not add too much or too little water. Otherwise, your paste would either be too thick or too sloppy. The density of the mixture should be thick enough to coat the paneer cubes well.

  5. Whisking the mixture will help you get the well-combined and puffy mixture.

  6. Once you’ve prepared the batter, coat the diced paneer with it.

  7. On the other hand, take a pan and heat the oil into it for frying.

  8. When the oil gets heated, add the paneer blocks one by one into the oil and deep fry them on medium flame.

  9. Take them out of the pan once you get the desired golden color and flakiness on the outside.

  10. Now serve them hot with tamarind chutney or famous mint chutney.

You can always try this pakora recipe by switching paneer to something else. For instance, you can take potatoes, cauliflower, spinach, or any other vegetable like onions to make crispy pakoras. But these paneer pakoras are so tasty that they won’t ever let you do that. So, try them at home whether you’re planning a Sunday brunch or a quick snack or order from Royal Kitchen to enjoy the gourmet Indian fast food wherever you are.
